Project Overview: HB Fleming installed two pipes, totaling 900 feet, across the Kennebec River and built a 180 foot-long trestle to launch two barges.
Challenge: A 125-foot navigable channel needed to be maintained in the river at all times. Excavated material could not leave the water and needed to be dug in the wet.
Solution: We dug and installed the pipe from barges, in order to limit our footprint on the river and keep the channel open. The pipes were launched up and down the riverbank and towed into place using boats.
